This is my favorite oatmeal cookie recipe, and I’ve tried a few in my years of baking. I recommend even eating them warm right off the pan!

Instructions
  1. Triple sift: flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda
  2. Cream until smooth: brown sugar, shortening, eggs and vanilla.
  3. Add 3 cups rolled oats and 1 cup chopped nuts
  4. Chill dough (sometimes I skip the chilling process) then shape into walnut size balls.
  5. Roll in powdered sugar to coat, and place on greased cookie sheet.
